Everyone knows about Cinderella, Snow White, and other fairy tale favorites. But there are many princesses who have been so well hidden, most of us never heard of them. All of that is about to change. The Secret Lives of Princesses by Philippe Lechermeier and Rébecca Dautremer is a treasure trove of incredible behind-the-scenes stories that reveal the secret lives of the world’s most mysterious princesses. Not your typical princess story, this gorgeous collection offers a fun, sophisticated and witty alternative to ordinary tales and delights the eye with its lush, exotic art and a bold, vivid design.
Have spotted Princess Anne Phibian?
Chatted with Princess Babbling Brooke?
Stumbled upon the Night Princess or had a word (or two!) with Princess Paige?
Crossed paths with Princess Picaresque or danced with Princess Tangra-la around the campfire?
These royal ladies are too grand to stay concealed in the back of a palace or at the top of a tower. Now discover all the fantastic stories of the world’s unknown, anonymous, and vanished princesses. Mysterious mansions, corridor whispers, backroom confidences, enchanted forests, murmured secrets, faithful pets – everything will finally be explained.
And who knows, perhaps you might even recognize yourself in these tales of long ago . . .
The author of several children’s books, Philippe Lechermeier also teaches French and history. As a student, he worked several odd jobs and says he grew up a “dreamer, lonely, one foot on earth, the other on the moon.” He is married and has two children.
Rébecca Dautremer has illustrated several children’s books. She studied art at École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where one of her teachers recognized her talent and encouraged Rébecca to specialize in children’s book illustrations. She currently lives in Paris with her husband and three children.
